The Sensory Cabin

The Sensory Cabin is an immersive multi-sensory environment specifically designed to relax and calm or stimulate and alert, promoting engagement and interaction for our learners depending on which pieces of equipment are used.

Learners with specific sensory needs are able to access the Sensory Cabin, supported by teaching or support staff, under the consultation and guidance of our Occupational Therapists, both advanced practitioners in Sensory Integration Therapy or our Speech and Language Therapists.

Learners are able to access this engaging and motivating environment for either one-to-one sessions or in small groups.  In this specialist multisensory environment, learners are able to work on various individualised targets including gross and fine motor development, balance, visual perception and communication through sensory exploration.

Our specialist Sensory Cabin was designed especially for us by Mike Ayres Design.
